AI Isn’t Magic

AI isn’t magic. The quality of its output still depends on the quality of its input. Strong fundamentals make AI powerful. Weak fundamentals make it dangerous. The better our fundamentals, the better our AI results. Garbage in, garbage out is still true.

In tech, it’s easy to get caught up in chasing the latest tools, frameworks, or platforms. Every week, there’s something new promising to make life easier or faster. But here’s the truth: tools come and go, fundamentals stay.

A developer who understands problem-solving, data flow, and clean design will thrive no matter what tool is in fashion. Someone who skips the basics and leans only on the tool will always struggle when the context changes.

It’s the same lesson I keep coming back to in my own work. The most stable systems I’ve built weren’t the ones with the flashiest stack, they were the ones grounded in simple, solid fundamentals.

New tech is exciting, and I love experimenting. But I remind myself often: strong foundations beat shiny tools. The rest is just detail.
